  3. APPRENTICESHIP COSTS



The following is a breakdown of approximate costs as at 01/01/2007

These costs may be subject to change and are GST exclusive

Administration fee on Sign up $ 250.00
Apprenticeship training record book (Issued by New Zealand Sign & Display Association)
Association Member fee $ 55.00 core subject
    $ 25.00 per strand
Association Non-Member fee   $ 115.00 core subject
    $ 48.00 per strand
NZQA Hook on fee (if required)   $ 25.00
Unit standard credit fee (per credit)   $ 1.00
Block Course (per course)    

First block course

  $ 353.00
Second & Third block
  $ 376.75 each

Each block course runs for three weeks.
A total of 3 block courses are required over the term of apprenticeship.

The New Zealand Sign School

Other costs connected to the NZ Sign School may also apply e.g. student services fees etc.
Accommodation costs – If required full board is available close to the NZ Sign School.

Travel subsidy
This payment is made to those apprentices who are required to travel between the North and South Island to attend a course. For those apprentices who are eligible for the subsidy, an application form will be sent to the employer at the appropriate time.
